Great News!!!!

I've been updating my collection on VIDA and now you can order "Tightrope Rose," "The Little Mermaid," and "Little Red" on a T-shirt.  This is the now the ONLY way you can have "Tightrope Rose" and "The Little Mermaid" since they are out of print.  There is a link to my collections page on my previous post.

Also, I have printed some new work in the past couple of months: Thumbelina and Phantom of the Opera.  I printed the phantom work on a lovely paris print fabric which I love!!! The print will go on sale at the next ACE event in May or sooner if I can get into Downtown Santa Ana's art walk.  I hope to upload pictures of my latest prints soon, so don't forget to come back later and check them out!

Lastly, a design idea for the Swan Princess just came to me last night so I will be getting started on that soon.  It will be a addition to the fairytale collection so expect the same format.  I should have it all printed and ready for sale at May's ACE event so look forward to it!

I'm Back!

Sorry I haven't been on this blog in a while, I've been distracted with other work and such.  Even though it's REALLY belated, I would like to thank everyone who came out to ACE last month.  It was a lot better than the first one I did.  The last ACE event of the year is the first Saturday of November, so mark your calendars!!!

I also have some exciting news, I have signed up to be a designer for a company called VIDA.  What they do is work with artists around the world to print their work on apparel and other items like tote bags and scarfs.  I'll leave the link to my collection page at the end of this post.  It's still a growing collection, but I have some cute totes and a scarf.  Also as a note, I do not set the prices for the items being sold, they are already set by VIDA.  So come check it out and tell your friends.  Each sale I make helps me update my status and I'll be able to reach a larger audience.

My Next Event

On August 13th I will once again be at ACE!!!! Anaheim's Art Crawl Experience on Center St. Promenade near the ice rink.  It's a really fun event with live music, food, and all sort of vendors.  It starts at 6pm and goes till 10pm.  So come on by, you can check out their official Facebook page to get a snippet of other vendors merchandise by just searching Swingin' on the Promenade (it's the event's theme).

While I am at the event I will be working on the Thumbelina design so that people who are not familiar with linoleum prints can get a first hand look at some of the process.  I won't be doing any actual printing because the inks do need at least 24hr to dry so I don't want to ruin them when I go to pack-up after the event.

I hope to see a bunch of people there!!!

Exciting News!

It's been a while and I meant to write this post sooner, but I've been distracted with work and what not.  I had a customer give me some good feedback about my work at the Yorba Linda event.  She pointed out that the beauty and the beast print may look more like a devil and a girl because it's printed in red.  She liked the print, but wanted it in black so I re-printed it for her and I do like it better in black, so that print is also available in black.  She also liked the snow white print, but wanted that in red so I re-printed that as well.  I still like it in blue, but It is also available in the red for those who would want that too.

This was a good experience for me and it made me realize that if you guys prefer my relief prints in another color, tell me and I will re-print it for you.  So when you guys see me at another event, don't be afraid to tell me if you want a print in another color.

I also have decided my next relief print in continuation with the other fairy tales and it is...........wait for it............Thumbelina!!!! I am so excited to see how it will turn out and I hope you guys will like it too!

Also I know I haven't mentioned this, but I do commissions as well, so if you have another idea of what you want let me know and I will make it happen!

Till next time :)

News Update

Just a reminder, I will be in downtown Yorba Linda on main street tomorrow June 25th from 5pm-11pm!!!

Unfortunately because of this heat wave, I wasn't able to finish my new print, but it will definitely be completed by august 13th for the Anaheim Art Crawl.

Also, I have decided to create an Etsy account, so I can attract more customers.  But right now I am stranded at home during the day, so even If I get orders, I can't get to the post office.  Therefore, I am waiting till I am able to find myself a car haha.

I hope to see you guys tomorrow night!

New Design!!!!

Ok so apparently, I can't post pictures on this blog which makes me very sad because I wanted to show everyone the inked drawing I just finished for my next silkscreen :(.  I guess the only thing I can do is describe it.  Luckily, it's not a complicated drawing.  Basically it's a crescent moon with a woman sleeping.  The background will be a dark blue fading into transparency towards the bottom.  The moon will be silver and the woman will have black wavy hair and a very light blue dress that will drape over the moon.  I want it to look elegant.

Clair de Lune by Claude Debussy is one of my absolute favorite classical songs.  It has such beautiful notes, it is my go-to lullaby for when I can't sleep.   So it was no wonder that it became the main inspiration for this print. Therefore the title of the print will most likely be Clair de Lune haha.

I am very excited to get started on it!!!! Hopefully, I can have it ready for June 25th so anyone coming out that night will be the first to ever see it and purchase it.

Hello everyone,

So I checked out what it would be like if I were to sell work at Long Beach Comic Con and I was very surprised at how expensive it is.  They want like $650 for that small space where you have 1 10ft table and chairs.  I mean, yeah it's a big convention like any other and it's for both days and the exposure is great, but I can't just throw down that much money like it's no big deal.  Looks like I've got a long way to go before I can start selling at a convention, but that just means I have to work harder!!!!!  I will eventually make it!

Also I have this awesome Phantom of the Opera design that I would like to print, but I want to make it bigger relief print compared to all of the other ones I've done (6 x 8 is the largest), but I would need a bigger press.  (All of you guys in the print world should know how crazy expensive presses are!!!!!) Luckily, my dad supports me and is a handy man, and has offered to build one for me!!!! I am super excited and when that is done I can print my Phantom design.  You all will love it! I have showed the sketch to a close friend of mine and Phantom fanatic and he approves so I'm sure you will too.

Still working on a new sketch that will be another silkscreen and when I have it done I'll post a picture here so check back in a few weeks!

I am starting a blog so that everyone can be up to date on events that I will be showing and selling my work as well as giving sneak peeks at upcoming prints that are work in progress.

Let's get started!!!

For everyone living in the Orange County area (as well as those who don't but are willing to make the drive) I will be selling work in Yorba Linda Saturday June 25th as part of an art festival (don't remember the actual name of the event haha).  It will be held on Main St which is just off of Imperial Highway across the street from the Mimi's Cafe.  I will be there from 5pm-11pm so don't be shy and come on over!!!!

For those of you who saw me at Anaheim's art crawl in May I will be there again in August and will have some new work as well!

For all of my avid convention attendees like me I am looking into joining the many other artists selling work at the Long Beach Comic Con in September.  An artist I was talking to at this year's Wonder Con suggested that I should give it a try so I will!!

Sadly I have news for those of you who are fans of Tightrope Rose (the Haunted Mansion parody print) and the mermaid print.  I am all sold out those prints.  I cannot reprint the Tightrope Rose because I printed it during my school days and had access to more advanced tech that I don't have now that I am no longer in school.  Fortunately, I can re-print the mermaid but I misplaced the lino block it was printed from when I was moving back home from school.  When I do find it I will let you know and start printing a second edition.

I believe that is all of the updates that I have for you.  I am in the process of coming up with another silkscreen design, so check back later this month for more updates!!!!
